SHARON REID
Director and Principal, SAHS
Sharon Reid has been an educator for the past 28 years and has taught at Glenmuir High School and St. Andrew High School for Girls, where she has been principal for the past nine years.
Inspired by her vision of transforming St. Andrew High into an international model for education by 2010, she has pioneered the rehabilitation and refurbishing of the school plant and infrastructure. Her initiatives include expanding the educational facilities; building a cafeteria, refurbishing the administrative block, creating a garden theatre as well as establishing a school bookshop. She has also piloted the development of a Balanced Score Card strategic plan for the institution and Curriculum Guides for Grades 7-9. She has also spearheaded the establishment of the St. Andrew High School Foundation to raise funds for the continued development of the institution.
Sharon holds a diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI) as well as a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the Central Connecticut State University, USA.
She is the recipient of the prestigious Lasco inaugural Principal of the Year Award (2006).
